Tucked away in a peaceful rural spot and yet only a couple of minutes’ drive from the A1, this place makes a great base for either a quick stopover or full weekend spent exploring the Northumberland countryside and coast. Pitches are part of a working farm with a quiet rural atmosphere and lovely uninterrupted views over to the coast – a splendid mix for a bit of chilled-out downtime.
How you fill your time while you’re here is up to you – Bamburgh is about 10 minutes’ drive away for beach days, games of golf and castle tours, and there are plenty more lovely beaches and spectacular castles just a little further along the coast.
Inland, you could spend the day exploring popular Alnwick Castle, or seek solitude in the Northumberland National Park – as the UK’s least-visited national park, it’s a fabulous place for a quiet hike away from the crowds, or a spot of stargazing (its remote location makes it the largest Dark Sky Park in the country).
